Sobremesa

Tried to explain sobremesa to someone here and ended up just saying "it's when you stay at the table after eating and just talk." But that's not really it. Sobremesa isn't about deciding to stay, it's about not even thinking of leaving. The meal is just the first part. The real thing is after. My family back home would sit at the table for hours and nobody ever looked at a clock.
